Sometimes we need something that can make us smile when we forget how to. For me, there are a few things, but one I used to use and have just rediscovered is a flash movie thing about a hippo with noodles on his back. Lately, I've visited that particular site a few times and will offer up the link when I finish being lazy and simply writing. The sun has been out the past two days and it is hinting at spring which is good following the March gloom. It seems like the end of Feb until around April there is no life or color in the world. At least in the early winter months there is snow and some beauty, but then once we hit that wall of late Feb, the world is in a twilight phase and we end up with seasonal affected disorder, or whatever that SAD acronym means.

The paper is still going. After a month I have been to loads of meetings and met some very interesting people. Sometimes I struggle at finding a story but am usually directed and get it done in time. Daryl has a tie on today, true story. I wore a tie twice this week. Monday I had a tie and coat on with jeans and tennis shoes, I call it casual professionalism. Then Thursday I wore a tie with jeans but had on my boots. Personally, I would rather wear my clogs all the time, but I was told early on that we must wear socks while at work. Socks are the bane of my existence. But, like everything, I'll get over it. I saw something on the Today show this morning about cops in South Carolina running down perps with their cars. Makes you wonder really. What it makes you wonder I can't say because honestly it doesn't make me wonder at all, but I'm sure someone is wondering something at this very moment.

Shoes are for the wicked I say. It takes someone two days for everything to say yes I will but no in fact I won't when it comes down to moving towards a goal of glory or fortitude. Obviously we have twice realized happy people try to yule for now go before trends set in right hi cat. And if you run out of supplies, there is always walmart. For other news one must seek out stars in yellow paper wrapping themselves in seran and tin foil to communicate with Elvis and possibly God, but nobody believes that anymore. I'm a fan of industry for the most part though. They make wonderful lovers to plants and huggers who undermine French resistant fighters popularized in such films as Edward Scissorhands and the original Shirley Temple films. Whatever that means.

For now, you can still find me playing open mic nights at the Blue Door Café Wed nights from 7-9 then the band gets together at Toppers and plays the rest of the night. So please come out and support it, it is a good time. We will also be playing at the Indianapolis Mini Marathon this year May 3 (I think is the date). That's all for now folks, keep your head on straight and try not to understand the prior paragraph for if you do, be afraid.

Cheers

"Sometimes we need something that can make us smile when we forget how to."

I love this line... it was me last night. You made me smile when I had all but forgotten how to. Thanks for that.

Oh, and its Seasonal Affective Disorder. I have a great book on it if you'd like to read it.

I don't like to wear shoes or socks. But sometimes I think back to my freshman year of high school when we learned about worms and he said that hook worms just stab themselves into your bare feet when you're walking in the grass. To eliminate this problem, I run, or skip, quickly through the grass.

Oh, and don't let them "fix" your crooked head. The world surely couldn't be the same without your view.

"I'm a hippopotamus and I like to say that I like to play everyday." I found this video aeons ago, and it is a great video.

As for the discussion pertaining to socks and shoes:

1.) I wear socks as little as possible. I actually can't stand the thought or sight of people wearing socks. For some strange reason, it really bothers me.

2.) As for shoes, I wear them only when necessary (aka school, work, adverse weather conditions, etc.)

But as you simply put it, I, too, "get over it."

After reading your newest blog on "Flying Ninja Horses" I had to backtack to see what other meaningful topics you had covered. If I were you I would seek professional help immediately. I think they might be able to get YOUR head on straight...... maybe not.........
