Quiet Life
"Act Natural" Safety Meeting Records
"Act Natural," Quiet Life's debut album is a cool breath of fresh air that signifies the eventual reemergence of a stripped down, rock 'n roll future. Quiet Life can just as easily be listened to on a long road trip as sitting in your bedroom during summer vacation.
Songs like the shuffle, B3 lead "Were You Singing" and the muddy indie rock guitars on "Every Dime" give this eclectic album the bragging rights of a true rock band. This is what rock going underground should have, and has produced. "Act Natural" takes the listener on a journey if they are willing to step outside of their shortsighted, pop-single frenzy to listen to an entire album.
The classic/country/folk and indie rock band was created in Connecticut by two brothers and two best friends. They have toured with bands like Drive-By Truckers, Ra Ra Riot and Shout Out Louds and could easily be imagined playing alongside Ryan Adams or Limbeck.

Damiera "Quiet Mouth Loud Hands" Equal Vision Records Released June 24, 2008
"Quiet Mouth Loud Hands" is the sophomore release from a nearly all freshman cast. Damiera had a release titled "M(us)ic" in 2006 and disbanded a year later. The two new members of this three piece alongside founding member Dave Raymond (League) went back into the studio with producer Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance) in an abandoned school's science room.
"Quiet Mouth Loud Hands" can easily be compared to At the Drive In, Braid and Coheed and Cambria. However, they go further than that. A fairer comparison would be the prodigal child of a 1980's Michael Jackson and Maroon 5 with the anger and fusion of Faith No More.
If the track "Teacher Preacher" would be released as a single and could achieve the airplay of the more cathartic bands currently topping the charts, Damiera would be selling out venues across the country. What they have created in that abandoned science room spans four vocal octaves and is imbued with funk, yet retains a lushness without being pretentious or cliché. And even though they have a Maroon 5/Michael Jackson vibe, they never sellout their heavy indie roots by writing a pop-song.
