Since I came to the Banner, I've been trying to get people onboard as community bloggers for our Web site.

Ask anyone I've interviewed, become friends with or talked to on the street, and chances are they'll tell you I've asked them about it.

I've had very few takers. I have two people who blog for me regularly, one who sends something semi-regularly and a couple who said they'd do it and then just never did.

So OK ... I'm begging now.

I really, really want people from the community to blog for me. This is a small-town newspaper, and I want those who live here to be involved.

The first thing people ask me when I approach them about blogging is, "What's involved?" Well, it's as simple as sending me an e-mail every week. My bloggers send me their submissions, and I edit and post them. You don't have to know anything about computers aside from how to work your e-mail program.

The second thing they want to know is, "What would I write about?"

Here's the great thing about blogs: For the most part, anything goes. I would love a blog from someone in law enforcement. I think a blog done by a stay-at-home mom would be great. I've always wanted a high school student to blog for us.
