My favorite color is yellow.
I like it for a variety of reasons ... it's bright, it's cheerful, and it makes me happy. The color yellow also sort of defines how I live my life. It's vibrant. It is what it is and makes no apologies for it. If I had to attach a color to my personality, it would be yellow. I am constantly amazed by the "studies" that are put out. Study reveals water is wet! According to study, mosquito bites itch! Seriously, they pay people for these things? But I was interested when I found a study on www.veria.com about favorite colors. The site said that our predilections for certain colors may, in fact, be inherited. "Research has demonstrated that they are the combined result of genetics, parental influences, early childhood memories and cultural background," the site said. Huh. That makes a lot of sense, actually. My mom is a natural blonde, and she wore a lot of yellow. The first bedroom I had that I have vivid memories of ... the one in our house in Sussex, New Jersey ... was painted yellow. When we moved to Michigan and onto the farm, my dad used John Deere equipment -- green and YELLOW. My mom's favorite flowers, which she planted copious beds of, were marigolds, mums, roses and sunflowers ... all yellow. Apparently, children reveal a lot about themselves and their lives through colors before they are able to express things verbally. When my son first started bringing pictures home from preschool, he drew mostly in red. The site said this "suggests a carefree nature." And how. My kid flits from thing to thing and doesn't let adversity get him down. So what's your favorite color? Take a look and see what it says about you!
