Honked OffPosted Friday, August 21, 2009, at 3:01 PM
In life, there are some things too funny not to share.
A few weeks ago my mother drove my sister's car in town. While cruising down the street, she was not prepared for what was about to happen. HONK! HONK! "What in the world," my mother thought at sound of the horn randomly honking. She kept driving and before long -- HONK! The horn did it again. By the time she reached her destination, the horn was in full-blown honking mode. HOOOOONK! She found a parking space near the back of the lot, quickly turned the car off and jumped out. Everyone was looking at her with a car whose horn had gone crazy. "I was so embarrassed," my mother later told me. She finished her shopping and was on her way home, when HONK, HONK, HONK! The sound was starting to "honk" her off. As she continued down the road, it started to sound like a traffic jam on a New York City street. A short honk then a long honk ensued all the way home. "Alright!" mom finally said to the horn. But by the time she pulled into the driveway, the horn was not laying off. Instead it was a continuous HOOOOOOOOOONK! She was thankful to be home. It was probably a good thing the horn decided to honk uncontrollably with my mother driving. If my sister had been driving it, she most likely would have called home for a ride.
