What a letdownPosted Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at 11:31 PM
So all week I was pumped to watch Kimbo Slice fight tonight in the Ultimate Fighter, and I kept telling myself that Kimbo is going to manhandle this big, fat white guy -- wow I was wrong.
Kimbo lost the fight. The ref stopped the fight because Kimbo couldn't defend himself against Roy's punches because all Roy did was lay his fat body on Kimbo so he couldn't move. Roy had a good 30 pounds on Kimbo, so it doesn't surprise me that he couldn't get him off of him, but that is no excuse. Kimbo should have destroyed him and he didn't. This whole time, Kimbo has been made up as this big bad fighter and has had a lot of hype surrounding him. He even got a special introduction on the season premier. And after watching the fight tonight, I'm not impressed. And to be honest, I am beginning to think that Kimbo is all hype and nothing else. I could be wrong, though. Kimbo could come back next week and totally dominate. This could have been his one fluke fight, if you don't count the one where he got KO'ed in that Strikeforce fight in the first two minutes by a guy that was half his size. But then again, this could have been the real deal and Kimbo Slice is not the fighter everybody thinks he is. He may just be a Youtube backyard brawler. Time will only tell. I like what you wrote but Roy did not just lay there during the fight. He used his skill in other forms of combat rather that just fighting because that is ALL that Kimbo can do.
mma, seems to be turning into the trash talking fake wrastling style bs, i hope not, but you look up the fights on the web and it is a lot of hype, i hate wrastling because of the fake soap opera bs plus it's staged ofcourse. you don't have to hate each other or "yo mama" just get in the oct and show your skills. right?
