Homecoming

Posted Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at 12:48 PM

This week is homecoming week; a time where the school comes together for an exciting and fun-filled week of games and events. It's a time to show your school spirit and cheer on your team.

Already this week, the school has been putting on some fun activities. The volleyball competition between classes, the hall decorating competition, spirit dress-up days, and nominating the queens and princesses are just a few of the South Put homecoming traditions. The girls and I are decorating pants and shirts to wear for Friday. Everyone seems to be showing their school spirit in some way.

Along with the boys' game, the girls' game is also this week. The big powderpuff game is tomorrow. The seniors will take on the juniors, and the seniors will win. Period. We have got some good practices in, and we are ready to play. It should be a lot of fun.

I've never been this excited for the homecoming game before, as I am now. The boys have done so well this year, and I'm very proud of them for that. These are the boys I've grown up with, so it's really awesome to see them go out there and get wins. It's exciting that my senior class has such great talent.

The cheer block should be amazing Friday night, and we can't wait to go crazy for the news cameras. I hope the boys will make us proud, and I hope the cheer block will make the boys proud. South Put is taking on Speedway, and it will be a tough game. Win or lose, it's going to be a fun night!
