FallPosted Thursday, October 8, 2009, at 2:40 PM
Fall is here, my favorite time of the year. I love everything about the month of October. The sights, the smells, the events, everything.
The weather is perfect for wearing a scarf and boots, which is my favorite thing to wear. It also calls for frequent trips to Starbucks for hot chocolate and lattes. Yes, I drive all the way to Plainfield just for Starbucks. It's well worth it. I love seeing the changing colors of the leaves along with pumpkins and Halloween decorations. The Covered Bridge Festival starts tomorrow, and I am really looking forward to that. I've been going ever since I can remember. Haunted houses and trails are also something I love to do. The month of October also calls for a little South Putnam tradition. Yes, it's "soaping" season. But don't worry, it's all in good fun. Ever since I was little, Fall has been my favorite season. My sister and I used to rake up huge piles of leaves and jump in it. We thought this was the best thing in the world. We'd also dress up and go trick-or-treating every year on Halloween. I was everything from angels to witches to pumpkins. When I got home from trick-or-treating, I'd spill out my bag of candy to see what all I'd got. It was such an exciting time! Actually, I still do this. |
