JoblessPosted Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 1:05 PM
Being jobless definitely has its advantages, such as having more time to do things and not paying for your own stuff. But lately, the disadvantages have been taking over.
It's been great not having a job my whole life, but I think I'm ready and willing to change that now. I'm driving a lot more than I used to, which calls for tons of gas money each week. Senior pictures, senior cap and gown, the bowling team, and not to mention, the speeding ticket I got last week. The things I need money for are not cheap. My parents do give me money, which is awesome, but they've been cutting down, especially now since I'm constantly asking for it. I'm beginning to get pretty expensive, and I'm starting to feel bad about it. Now that I need money for things, I don't ever have a lot to do fun things like watch a movie, go shopping, or go out to eat. When my friends ask "Who's driving?," my reply is usually, "I'll drive if we want to run out of gas and get stranded." I am in dire need of a job. It would be really nice to be able to pay for things and get a start on my college funds. I've applied to places in Greencastle and Plainfield, and I haven't heard from anyone. Great. Someone hire me! |
