Another new year means another year older

Every January is usually a new beginning for many people, to me it symbolizes getting another year older. This isn't a bad thing, but I also have a habit (ok not a habit more of a curse) of something horrible or ridiculously weird happening to me around my birthday. It's one day before my birthday and I've been reflecting on what happened last year.

I snapped my clavicle in half and ended up having surgery that resulted in a plate and six screws in my body. Really was a great way to spend a birthday. So far that has probably been the most ridiculous and painful thing I've ever done (on my birthday or in my life). Other times haven't been as traumatic or bad.

I've ended up taking people to emergency rooms, breaking up fights, ended up doped up on medicine for bronchitis, stuck in a car for hours and too many other things to count. My life is never dull.

This year might be a new experience (at least I'm hoping it is), I'm pretty much on my own this year. Most people I know are back in West Virginia, I'm might actually get through this birthday unscathed (or at least I hope). I have work and that's pretty much my plans. I know I'll get through the day, but it's the weekend I'm more worried about.

I'm going back to W.Va. this weekend to see family and friends. This will be a great thing, but it might also cause the craziness that has revolved around my birthdays the last few years.

Here is to hoping that I don't get into any of my usual crazy antics (or get dragged into them) and make it back to Indiana in one piece. Hopefully...

Every morning I start my day with a cup of coffee, catching up on the news, and trying not to hurt myself before 10 am (I'm a klutz and usually end up stubbing my toe or something of the sorts in the morning...or really anytime of the day). Hence the new blog coffee notes. Well, I should probably start with a little background on myself.

Interesting Facts: Coffee snob, reader, writer, enjoy good music, and somewhat of a workaholic. Oh, and I also like to think I'm funny.

What I try to do with my more casual writing is to insert witty comments into things that are happening into today's society. Sometimes I'm funny, most times just some really bad jokes that make people shake their head.

I look forward to providing Putnam County with news and my own brand of humor in the future. Keep an eye out, I'll keep posting.
