Amazing that a nice team won!

For those of you who like watching CBS's "The Amazing Race," but for some reason or another didn't watch the final episode last night, TK and Rachel came from behind to win the million-dollar prize.

Bloggers on the show's website at CBS.com were praising the duo this morning, saying that the good guys finally won. I would have to agree, even though they weren't my pick to win.

I would have rather seen Nick and Don (the grandfather/grandson team) win because of Don's age.

Another team I wouldn't have minded winning was the father/daughter duo of Ron and Christina. They were my second pick of the night, even though Ron acted like a total jerk to Christina during the previous episodes. He started treating her better toward the end, which redeemed him, somewhat, in my eyes.

The one team I was thrilled to see eliminated prior to last night's finale was Jennifer and Nathan. If you're having trouble remembering them, think back to the episode where the teams had to pull donkeys up a hill.

Jennifer and Nathan were the ones who just stood there and screamed at the donkey, and at each other, to the point that I almost changed the channel on the TV. It would have been amazing had they transferred all that energy into actually doing something -- like pushing and pulling the donkey instead of screaming at it. That wasn't the only time they fought during the race, but I won't waste time re-hashing it here. It's not worth reliving.

Suffice to say: Jennifer and Nathan were perfect examples of how NOT to run the Amazing race.

Anyway, I thought TK and Rachel ran a terrific race based on the fact that they didn't fight with each other and they showed good sportsmanship to the other teams, which is a rare treat on the show. They weren't my pick, but you have to give them credit for the way they played. They prove that you can get a lot more accomplished working together as a team, rather than giving in to selfish interests.
