Asst. Supt. Brad Phillips is in the bucket truck with Doug Sosbe, Ricky Long, Mark Dickerson and Matt Jordan helping with the project. The canopy lights will be rolled onto wooden spools and stored.

The "Canopy of Lights" on the Greencastle square has come down, Dept. of Public Works Supt. Paul Wilson announced Friday.

He told the BannerGraphic Thursday that inclement weather since Christmas, including pounding rain, hail, snowstorms and an 80-mph windstorm, have hampered efforts to take down the lights that draped the courthouse.

Overnight Thursday, street crews took the lights down, but the lights on the trees around the square remain.

Volunteers from the community are being sought to help take down the white lights from the trees around the square. To volunteer, call attorney Sharon Hammond at 653-2451.

Don't mean to sound like a Scrooge, but if you can't take the lights down in a timely manner, don't put them up to begin with.

There, do you feel better now? Maybe you should go help take down the lights so that it could be done in a more timely manner?

It looks like they are still up... Just hanging down off the top of the Courthouse. It isn't that hard to do, just trying to find new people to Help! The ones that have done it for years... Are tired of Listening to the Complaints! The view is nice from the Top and All is Needed is Some Young Blood to do the work. It's not Rocket Science Guys!!! Step Up Chamber Members... Banner Employees.. Young Bankers we do have plenty of Banks :-) Well I guess we will need some of Our Older business Leaders of Yesterday.. Lets See if they can get their Walkers up on the Roof!
