Who has a story about the earthquake on Friday? I'm sure I wasn't the only one jolted out of bed thinking a car had smashed into my house or someone kicked in the back door.

I'm a native Hoosier and this is the fifth such shaking I've lived through, but no matter how many times it happens, you're never prepared for it.

Friday was a busy day in the BannerGraphic newsroom with the earthquakes and the fire at the gravel pit down at Cloverdale. It seems like news comes in waves.

Speaking of waves, the shockwaves rattled through at least twice but didn't seem to cause any damage. I heard a man from Brazil call in to one of the Indianapolis news stations and say his bed moved "two or three feet" and his kids' TV fell off its nightstand. Hmmm.

Anyhow, it looked like they received quite a bit of damage in southern Illinois and I would guess there was some in Indiana too.

I've seen a lot of news about earthquake insurance. Does anyone in Putnam County have it. And is it very expensive?

I live in Williamsport, the same place where Jared grew up, and as my moniker states I am his cousin. Friday April the 18th was my 36th birthday and I guarantee I will never forget it. It is actually kind of cool to know that it is something memorable.

I live in Center Point and I highly doubt his bed moved. it wasn't THAT stong. At least not in that area. I was awake when the earthquake hit. I was playing a Playstation game at the time. I have several things perched rather precariously on a stand near the chair including the playstation itself. They didn't even move. Everything just shook. My first thought was a Truck was going past but it lasted longer than that.

I was in bed for the Aftershock at 11:30and that one did wake me up. However It wasnt THAT big of a shake.
