McNabb -- Let me count the ways.Posted Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at 11:59 PM
McNabb at his best
I'm not going to beat around the bush or sugar coat on this rant, but I will keep it civilized. I don't like Donovan McNabb. Since he joined the league, I have never been a fan. I think he is one of the most overrated quarterbacks to ever to wear a jersey. He wants to continuously whine about being overly criticized or to feel he is under a microscope. Well sir, welcome to professional sports. You are being criticized because your team is 0-2 on the season, you've lost six of your last seven starts and you ooze excuses for everything. Sure the Eagles have had some success but to believe that McNabb is solely responsible for it is ludicrous. I do believe he's been an OK quarterback, but what should worry Eagles fans is he's slowly becoming the Bionic Man. First he suffered a broken ankle in 2002, and then had a sports hernia in 2005 and a torn ACL in 2006. For those counting, McNabb has missed six or more games in three of the last five seasons -- I can hear Kevin Kolb lickin' his chops from here. I just don't understand how he can say people are criticizing him when all I heard during the Packers/Eagles game was how great he is. We hear it year in and year out -- POTENTIAL, he has great potential. But when do the Eagles wise up and give another quarterback a shot to lead the team. The experiment seemed worked with Jeff Garcia. That won't be happening any time soon, as McNabb signed a contract through the year 2013. Does Donovan think by throwing out some words and causing a controversy, we will forget about his failings on the field in the past five seasons? Does he think we will join the legions that are breaking their backs to hoist him onto that undeserved pedestal? Not I. And the biggest reason I don't like Donovan McNabb? Fourth and 26. I am with you on this topic, big time. I Am so sick and tired of people falling behind the wall of color and blaming their inadequacies on their being of a different race than caucasion.
