Jericho is back and better than ever
When Jericho was revived by CBS a few weeks ago, I held a collective breath and hoped for the best. I was not disappointed.
Having only seven episodes I feared that the first two episodes would be good, then they would race to tie up the loose ends but it seems to be full steam ahead. So listen up CBS either picks up a third season or get ready to see Jericho somewhere else. The show is too good to sit and the people brought it back from the dead and will do it again if need be.
Thus far this season, new characters like Major Becks and my favorite baddies Goetz of Ravenwood are taking the series in a beautifully disturbing direction.
The country is now divided into two countries and the west already has a new president, adopted a new flag, a new name and has distributed new school textbooks with a "retelling" of our history. A little scary due to the fact it could actually happen.
What, or more to the point who, makes the show is Lennie James and his alter ego Robert Hawkins. Hawkins is one of the most powerful characters to grace the TV screen in years.
For the whiny watchers complaining that they can't follow the show, reruns of the first season are airing on the Sci-Fi Channel on Monday nights with new episodes on CBS Tuesday at 10 p.m.
I leave you now but not for good. Next up will be some commentary on the delectable show Dexter. A killer by night, blood-spatter expert by day? Could you ask for more?
