Indiana Jones -- Political Pawn?

The Adventures of Propaganda Jones?
I've read the bad reviews. I've heard people bashing Ford, Lucas and Spielberg left and right. I've even had few take some shots at me, but this one takes the cake.

The Communist party came out against the newest installment of the Indiana Jones franchise on Friday calling it "crude, anti-Soviet propaganda that distorts history". Huh?

When I was growing up my Mommy told me don't worry, that's not real. Granted, watching a historical film is something entirely different, but we're talking about an adventurer that is named after George Lucas' dog. Should people really be up in arms about it that much?

They also attack two of the films stars Harrison Ford and Cate Blanchett. They call them "second-rate actors, serving as the running dogs of the CIA." Again -- Huh?

Wait, it gets better.

They back up their claim that the film distorts history in the most plausible explanation of events in the 1950s.

"They (Russian youth) will go the cinema and will be sure that in 1957 we made trouble for the United States and almost started a nuclear war."

Wait for it… wait for it.

"It's rubbish…in 1957, the Communists did not run with crystal skulls throughout the U.S. Why should we agree to that sort of lie and let the West trick our youth?"

Now you know the truth kiddies -- if not for Dr. Jones, the Cold War would have never ended.

(Movie) History lesson 101

* Movies that are not stamped "documentary" could in fact not be real.

* If you are basing your knowledge of history strictly on films, you should know that yes, in fact, the Titanic did sink but Leo DiCaprio would have let go. Just a hunch.

Everyone have a great Memorial Day weekend and be safe.

Until then, ciao.

I hadnt heard this piece of news. That's hilarious. Personally I did't like the new films as much as others. I rated it about equal with Temple of Doom quite frankly.

Having the Russians there instead of teh Nazis did seem to make sense to me though. It was in the 50's where the Cold war was in full swing. The Russians were our enemies back then.

Anyway I'm prettt sure The Nazi's weren't coming the world for an Ark of the Covenent or The Holy Grail. Of course the Ark was put into deep storage and The Holy Grail was lost in a fissure so what do I know.

I guess this means that aliens really did exist and that if it weren't for the Russians and Indiana Jones, they would still be stuck under the Amazon jungle.

PERSONALLY, I LOVE THE ENTIRE SERIES OF MOVIES. I THINK THE FIRST ONE WAS THE BEST. COULD WE WRITE IN "INDY FOR PRESIDENT?"

Caine Gardner's response:
Absolutely you can. Personally, my vote is being cast for Short Round.
