MGM logo anyone?

Guess what's at the top of my Christmas list?

It seems that the tough economic times are even being unkind to the beautiful people in the Hollyweird industry.

The news came tonight that sources in the industry are expecting MGM to auction off their MGM-UA (United Artists) video library, consisting of 4,000 titles, and even the famous roaring lion logo is up for grabs. But is the trouble for MGM really something we should all be shocked by?

Keep in mind, this is the studio that released the wonderful (wink) remake of 'Fame' this year and has such stellar flicks on the horizon such as 'Hot Tub Time Machine'. The only bit of intrigue for this guy is the remake of 'Red Dawn' that's slated to drop next November.

So with Christmas just around the corner, if your looking for the perfect gift for your favorite local film critic, just remember -- MGM is the gift that keeps on giving.
