I can't believe the time is finally here. It seems like yesterday the Saints hoisted the Super Bowl trophy and the season was over. The season kicked off yesterday and it will be weeks filled with bliss.
The season kicked off with the Vikings at the Saints in a rematch of last year's NFC Championship, with the same outcome. Favre strolled off the field instead of limping to the sideline, head hanging low the last time he played on the field.
Another key to the season is the fantasy element. Not only do you enjoy the game, but also you need to keep track of your various players and make sure you make the right moves for the upcoming weeks. But sometimes that's easier said than done.
As far as Thursday's game went, I had Adrian Peterson of Minnesota and Marques Colston of the Saints and I'm a fan of the Brett Favre and the Vikings, so here's my dilemma. I wanted the Vikings to win, Peterson to rush for a ton of yards, but I also needed Colston to amass a bunch of yards and maybe a score or two without his team winning the game. Most of those things didn't happen unfortunately.
We have a Banner Graphic Public League which will have its standings posted weekly, so you'll be able to see how well I'm doing this year. I feel OK with my team, but I have a few players I'm not too sure about, but time will tell.
I'm looking forward to hitting the couch Sunday with a little lemonade, some chips and two and a half hours of relaxation.
