  • Nanny McPhee

I don't get to go to the movies too often as we don't have a regular sitter out here. But I loved the first Nanny McPhee movie and figured I would probably like the second one. A movie that can make my whole family laugh and my 6 year old daughter and I drop a couple of tears is a good movie in my book. It doesn't hurt also that I'm a fan of Emma Thompson. Too many "family" movies are geared, really, just towards kids. This was really a true family movie.

  • Tangled is hilarious, for any age - the adults were laughing out loud as much as the kids. It's old-fashioned slapstick with some great characters - Max the Horse steals the show. he six-year old I was with was thrilled with this one - the princess isn't too princessy, the "prince" isn't a prince, he's a handsome thief. This is one of the few "kids" movies I'd pay to see again, even without taking a kid with me.

  • Leap Year

A Romantic Comedy that was wholesome and I loved, loved, loved the setting, which is Ireland. I enjoy Amy Adams' acting very much. I've watched this a couple of times and laughed out loud each time.

  • I wasn't sure if remakes and sequils still had a place. But Karate Kid was a great take on a classic film. Don't get me wrong; it wasn't near the knockout scored by Jorge Lucas and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but delightful none the less. **** out of *****
