Now this is awesome.Posted Thursday, January 13, 2011, at 11:02 PM
I try to keep my focus on where it should be, the good old Red, White and Blue, and think of the many reasons we're so lucky to live in the country we do. My thoughts often go to those who sacrificed so that we all can do things such as be at sporting events in the first place. Most times a word never comes from the audience while that anthem plays and that's fine. I'm not one who thinks you need to belt it out for it to have an impact, but when I watched this I might begin to rethink my position. As you can see in the clip below, a young girl is singing the Star Spangled Banner when all of a sudden her mic cuts out. Her rendition of the National Anthem was cut short, but that wasn't the end of the song. After a brief cackle from a lady nearby, and I do mean cackle, the arena is filled with the voices of those attending as they sing the song to its conclusion. I give all the credit in the world to the young singer who continues to do the best she can and never waivers throughout the song. I will admit, this gave me goosebumps. It takes a while to get to the big moment, but it's worth the wait.
