Think before you click
The other evening I was at the Putnam County Track meet at South Putnam enjoying a good day of track action and fine weather. For what seemed like the first time in a long time, sunny skies hung overhead and the temperature crept well into the 80s.
During the meet, I had a nasty itch on my back, so I clicked my pen and proceeded to give it a strong scratch. Not giving it another thought, I went on covering the track meet and went on about my business.
After the conclusion I dropped by my parents' house to run in and wish my wife a Happy Birthday and give my daughters a kiss goodnight. Then as I turned to leave, my Mom informed me that someone had marked on my back with pen. I didn't recall my kids doing anything, so I checked it out in the mirror and sure enough, there was a pen mark in short, intense little slashes.
As I made my way back to the office, I still was going back and forth trying to determine who the culprit was who made this mad markings on my back. Then it hit me. When I thought I had clicked my pen close, I had actually done the opposite and proceeded to make mad black slashes in the area of my itch on my green shirt.
So what lesson did I learn? Switch to a capped pen or stock up on Spray and Wash.
