Fun in the Sun -- and heat
After a long, but awesome, sports season this year, I needed a break. Unfortunately I decided on my break before looking at the sports glance calendar on IHSAA.org and missed out on the South Putnam Eagles winning the Class 2A State Softball title. But I was so happy for them, I did what anyone who is associated with a championship team should do -- I went to Disney World.
OK, I admit it, the plans were already set, but what a fitting end to a season that was awesome all the way around. A championship team, a runner-up football state champion, two trips to Lucas Oil -- the list goes on and on.
But as I began before, I decided it was time to save my pennies and dimes and take my daughters on a trip they won't forget. I decided on a Disney trip and so far we've not been disappointed. We've meet four princesses, Mickey and Minnie and my oldest rode Splash Mountain. And while her mother and I were in a state of panic over her, she giggled the entire time and had a look of complete joy on the photo from the ride.
We're here a few more days and have more plans to meet princess, ride some rides and most of all just kick back and relax -- if your definition of relaxing is battling thousands upon thousands of other park goers who seem to have forgotten all common sense when they cross over into the park. Not to complain, but to the sir who ran into me multiple times yesterday -- I've talked to Captain Hook and he's not too happy with you.
But I hear the bells chiming in the distance, so that can mean only one thing, they need more of my money. I kid because I love. Hope everyone is having a great start to their summer and I'll tell Mickey and the gang you said hello.
