Putnampalooza
If you aren't tapping your toes this weekend in Greencastle, you just aren't trying.
After all, it's practically Putnampalooza.
Consider this Friday night, Aug. 7. Music is on tap for at least five Greencastle locations.
On the courthouse stage. At the VFW post on South Jackson Street. Inside the Inn at DePauw. At Bagos coffeehouse on the east side of the square. And stirring within The Swizzle Stick.
We've got the music in us.
Here's the rundown. The music starts at 4 p.m. Friday and will continue until midnight in at least two of those locations.
Here's the lineup:
-- Live music at Bagos, beginning at 4 p.m. with several acts continuing until 8 p.m. and an open jam session planned from 8-9.
-- Live music at the VFW where the John Wood Combo will be joined by Greencastle native Robin Hopkins, songstress Kathleen Miller and clarinetist Bill James, 6-8 p.m.
-- Live music on the stage on the north side of the courthouse will feature the popular Terre Haute group MacDaddy's playing the monthly First Friday outdoor concert, 7-9 p.m.
-- The annual Average House Band musical reunion kicks off its two-day run at 9 p.m. Friday at the Inn at DePauw.
-- The traditional First Friday finale with War Radio performing at The Swizzle 9 p.m. to midnight.
And that's just Friday.
Saturday brings the second show for Average House Band from 9 p.m. to midnight, while earlier in the day, there'll be music of a different tune as the Cloverdale High School Marching Band performs at approximately 11:30 a.m. in the State Fair Band competition at Indianapolis.
And if none of that trips your trigger, karaoke is on tap at the Moose, Eagles and American Legion Friday night.
Putnampalooza ... catch it!
