No, that wasn't me (but I wish it was)Posted Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at 11:30 PM
I got a call from my mom Tuesday afternoon asking me if I'm the one who places the "Weird news" links on the front page of bannergraphic.com
I told her, "No, that's taken care of for us somewhere else."
Apparently there was a story on there (Unfortunately, it's gone now.) about a kid who was arrested for passing gas in his high school classroom.
All I can say is, no, I'm neither the guy who placed that story nor the one who wrote it, but I wish I was one or the other.
I have a tendency to overlook the parts of this website that weren't directly placed by somebody on the BG staff. And I even miss some of those. But I see all the local news stories, given that I place them, as well as all the local sports stories. I also try to keep up on everyone's blogs.
But any section that can boast headlines about farting high schoolers, drunk drivers running over themselves and people trying to steal the identities of three-year-olds is certainly worth a second glance.
It's a fast-paced, stressful world, and we all need a good chuckle once in a while. Especially when it's because we can see how stupid other people can make themselves look.
Now I'm just waiting for something like this to happen nearby. I can't wait for the day that I get to cover a would-be robber getting locked in the house he's targeting, if only to be there grinning as he's led away to think about his own idiocy.
