It tastes like chicken
Posted Thursday, November 20, at 4:48 PM
It takes quite a bit for me to get outside of my comfort zone. My family and friends will all tell you I am set in my ways and I am by far one of the pickiest eaters they've ever met, which is a fact that I've come to terms with. I just don't like trying new things. If it looks gross or even smells funny, I don't want it anywhere near me...

My mini-vacation was just the thing I needed
Posted Friday, October 17, at 8:31 PM

Last Christmas, my brother gave me the best gift of all -- a round trip ticket to visit him in Los Angles. Needing a bit of a break, I decided to cash in and took a mini-vacation to visit my wonderful older brother Lucas. Having no real itinerary for the trip, like I've had in the past, I had a blast just hanging out with my brother, which is something that does not happen often. In fact, I think that's the most fun him and I have had together in quite some time...

Muncie, I still love you.
Posted Monday, October 6, at 11:18 AM

Over the weekend, I made my return to Muncie. Honestly, I cannot even tell you the last time I made a visit to my alma mater, but as usual I loved every minute of it. While in college there of course were some of us that would bash the small town. Little did we realize then, we would miss that small town more than anything years after we all graduated...

It's official
Posted Tuesday, September 9, at 11:49 AM

Well, it's official guys. I've been working at the Banner for more than three years now. Realizing that it was my "anniversary" was kind of exciting. However, thinking about how much I've changed over the years was a tad bit scary. Lets start off with the fact I'm a country music fan. I NEVER saw that coming...

Is it hockey season yet?
Posted Tuesday, August 26, at 12:08 PM

To say it has been a busy summer for me is an understatement. For the past two months, it's been nonstop traveling between Greencastle, Indianapolis and Chicago and for good reason too. This summer, I was able to photograph my first wedding. My good friend Erin's dad got re-married and actually trusted me to shoot his wedding, during which I actually surprised myself with how good the pictures had turned out...

The world just got a lot less funny
Posted Tuesday, August 12, at 2:37 PM

Yesterday we lost a true comedic legend. Robin Williams was a light in my childhood. He played some of my favorite actors from Mrs. Doubtfire, (which I must have watched more than a 100 times with my best friend) to the Genie in Aladdin to Patch Adams and beyond...

August is looking pretty great
Posted Tuesday, August 5, at 2:47 PM

This weekend I finally made my return to the insanely awesome music festival also known as Lollapalooza. The past few years, I hadn't gone due to the lineup not being up to par, but I'm so glad I chose to return this year as its the festivals 10th year in Chicago...

Nashville I love you
Posted Tuesday, July 1, at 1:34 PM

This past weekend brought a bunch of firsts for me as I traveled to the capital of country music for the first time in my life for my best friend Melissa's bachelorette party. Nashville is truly an amazing city. I have always been told by my father that I would love it there, but I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did...

Let's Go Hawks!
Posted Friday, April 25, at 4:52 PM

It's the most wonderful time of the year. That's right, it's time for the NHL post-season. Although the Chicago Blackhawks don't have the best record in the league this year, they're still having one heck of a first series. With game five tonight against the St. Louis Blues the Hawks have the chance to take the lead in a hard fought series that is currently tied at 2-2...

Guess who's back...
Posted Tuesday, February 18, at 10:30 AM

Sometimes you find that the grass is not always greener on the other side. A few weeks ago I posted what I thought would be my final blog for the Banner Graphic, but life has a funny way of working sometimes and I'm happy to admit that I am once again a Banner employee...

Thanks for the memories
Posted Friday, January 31, at 4:28 PM

Two and a half years ago I moved to Greencastle to start my first job out of college here at the Banner Graphic. I moved to Putnam County not knowing a soul and I'm going to be honest, when I first came here I was bored out of my mind and didn't know what anyone did for fun. But, over the past couple of years I have really made it my own...

A bit of cabin fever
Posted Tuesday, January 7, at 3:40 PM

So, this little snowstorm I thought we'd be having turned out not to be so little. It's freezing cold and I'm tired of being cooped up in my house. Cabin fever has really begun to set in. I've watched all the movies and horrible television that I can possibly watch and I'm just plain bored now...

It's almost Ditka Dash time!
Posted Monday, November 18, at 1:53 PM

This year I've been making an effort to step out of my box, I've shot my first gun, traveled to new places and now I'm on to running my first 5K ever. Although growing up I've always been an athlete, I've never been a (distance) runner. I played both soccer and basketball and we would run during training, but God forbid we ran more than a mile or two...

Cross that off the bucket list
Posted Friday, October 18, at 4:01 PM

In my more than two years in Greencastle, I've been lucky enough to befriend some amazingly talented people, one of them being Jerrod Baugh. I had initially met Jerrod during an active shooter training exercise, which happened to be going on right behind my house. At the time, it was all about producing a good story...

*NSYNC reunited and it was glorious
Posted Thursday, August 29, at 7:00 PM

I'm 24 years old. However, when *NSYNC reunited at the VMAs on Sunday, I was all of 11. You see, I, like many other girls born in the late-'80s, grew up with *NSYNC. For me, it was the first time I was passionate about music and at the time, the first time I thought I knew what true love was...

Bobby Mackey's
Posted Friday, August 9, at 3:20 PM

Summertime is a time for traveling, which is exactly how I spent last weekend with some of my best friends. A spur of the moment trip took us to Cincinnati on Saturday where we spent the day exploring the city with the evening being spent at a well-known bar right outside of the city called Bobby Mackey's...

Home is where the Hawks are
Posted Thursday, June 6, at 10:03 AM

It's the most wonderful time of the year. No, I'm not talking about Christmas; I'm talking about Chicago Blackhawks playoff hockey. Having parents that are season ticket holders for the best team in hockey does indeed have its perks. It's because of that fact that for the past few months my life has literally revolved around the Blackhawks...

It's time for the playoffs
Posted Tuesday, April 30, at 3:37 PM

In a season that was far too short, the Stanley Cup Playoffs are now upon us. My beloved Chicago Blackhawks clinched the number one seed a couple weeks ago and they will begin on home ice tonight against the Minnesota Wild. After a season like they had, I'm more than excited to watch some playoff hockey. ...

It's that time again...
Posted Tuesday, March 12, at 1:02 PM

It's that time of year again. It's the time for all of us Ball State alumni to descend upon Muncie once again for a celebration of epic proportions. It's almost time for Munice Gras. Muncie Gras is supposedly a smaller version of Mardi Gras. I would not really know due to the fact I've never been to New Orleans, but there are beads, drag queens, mechanical bull riding and much more...

Goodbye old friend
Posted Monday, February 25, at 11:58 AM

This weekend I lost my best friend in the world, my dog Wiley. I didn't just lose a pet, I lost a family member and a loyal companion. I remember as a kid, bugging my parents constantly for a dog. Finally, after years of begging, they finally gave in and surprised me in the middle of summer as I was going into the seventh-grade...
