Hello Hello!Posted Monday, October 3, 2011, at 5:04 PM
I love moustaches.
Well since I'm the new girl around here I thought my first entry should be about introducing just who I am. Since I get asked daily, 'how did you end up here?'
First of all my name is Lauren Boucher. I'm a recent photojournalism graduate from Ball State University, and yes I love my Ball State Cardinals (*Chirp Chirp!*).
I moved here from the wonderful Chicagoland area one month ago. I grew up in a semi-small town called Elmhurst, which is just twenty short minutes away from the downtown area.
I moved to Greencastle for this wonderful job at the Banner Graphic. Yes, it is a bit of a culture shock going from a big city to a small one. But, Muncie wasn't much bigger. I do however miss my friends and family as well as my lovely little dog named Wylie. But, I've been given the greatest welcome and I have enjoyed all of the people I have met thus far.
I'm a HUGE Chicago Blackhawks fan. My favorite thing about the fall/winter is going to the games, as my family are season ticket holders (I also really enjoy collecting the bobble heads). I am convinced that we will win the Stanley Cup again this year.
I'm a traveler. I love to explore new cities and see what the world has to offer. I was able to study abroad for a semester in London in the spring of my sophomore year. I got to take classes on the history of British rock and our field trips were to places like Stonehenge and Liverpool. It was hands down, the greatest time of my life. I've wanted to move back ever since I landed in the States. London changed my life in so many ways and brought me so many new friendships. It really help me come into my own and really truly focus on where I wanted to go in life.
I'm a huge music lover. I love a lot of British music that isn't that well known yet over here such as The Maccabees, Ed Sheeran, and Jamie T. I'm also a huge fan of bands like The Kooks, City and Colour, and Two Door Cinema Club.
I haven't quite gotten down what people do around here for fun. I'm still looking for suggestions. I've found myself several times going to Wal*Mart just because I have nothing better to do with my time. But, I really am beginning to like this city more and more each day.
