I could save some money

I was lucky enough to go along on a ghost hunt with a local group of paranormal investigators recently. It was really impressive how together this group was. They had their equipment and knew how to use it. Set it up very quickly and started their investigation.
I admit I am a big fan of TAPS, which is the show that got them interested in doing this type of work. So, when my editor got a call from Chris Lein the founder of group, she passed the story to me--knowing I love this kind of stuff. I have been on many ghost tours including several in New Orleans, Savannah, Gettysburg and Chicago. I will say with disappointment I have never encountered a ghost on any of these adventures despite looking very hard. Locally, I've been to most of the "haunted" spots around Putnam County including Boone Hutch, Edna Colings and University Cave. I've talked to lots of people who have witnessed paranormal activity and even written about their experiences. I did get creeped out in the St. Louis Cemetery in New Orleans near the tomb of Voodoo queen Marie Laveau and I felt a tingle on my spine at the Gettysburg battleground in the Devils Den. I had a shiver run over me in the Chicago River in the spot where hundreds of people lost their lives in a bridge collapse. And, occasionally I get a feeling of being watched in the Banner office in the evenings when few people are here. But, still no proof of anything or anyone ghostly. Maybe it was the excitement of being with people serious about discovering and explaining the "unexplainable" but I'm pretty sure I saw some shadows that moved that night in the DePauw Library where there shouldn't have been any shadows. I watched with interest when a couple of these investigators were drawn back several times to an old grandfather clock and eventually to a hundred year old chair next to it only to discover large fluctuations in temperature from the seat to the top of the chair. I loved that they spooked themselves by looking into a mirror that they thought was a window in a door and were able to laugh at themselves. And, I'm thrilled they found some evidence through an EVP on their hunt. Not just because it makes a good story but because now that I have seen them in action, I can have them investigate my house where on many occasions there have been some odd occurrences noted by several people and an animal or two. I'm talking paranormal not Ward normal. If I knew I had a ghost in my own house and they can prove it, I could save a lot of money going on these tours in other places. Seriously, these guys who are all members of the Hoosier State Paranormal Investigating team, did a very professional, thorough job. Keep your eye on them they could be the next TAPS on TV.
