Haunted Historic Cemetery Tours

It's October and that means it's time for spooky things. This year the Heritage Preservation Society is mixing the scary with the historic on cemetery tours to three local graveyards.
This promises to be a fun-filled evening especially for history buffs and anyone who loves a good ghost story.
On Oct. 16 and 17 and Oct. 30 and 31 at either 7 or 9 p.m. HPS is taking groups of history or haunted buffs through the Old City Cemetery, Pleasant Hill and the infamous Boone Hutcheson graveyards.
Information about the cemeteries as well as early pioneers in Putnam County will be mixed in with some of the well known haunts around the area. A stop by four arches is scheduled and a quick recall of the goatman story before going to Boone Hutcheson to look for the "blue" policeman and ghostly dog.
There will also be some facts about the Daniel Boone family. After that it's off to the Putnam County Museum to check out their "haunted" exhibit and enjoy a snack.
Cost is only $10 a person, $20 for a family of four or more and $15 for a couple with a child.
On Halloween at midnight join us on a midnight walk around downtown Greencastle to hear a little history and a lot of spooky tales. A mere $5 gets you on this tour.
This is a fundraiser for the Heritage Preservation Society who hopes to make it an annual event. Call me or email me for information or a reservation. I promise it will be a good time!
