Area 30 Culinary Arts team test run

Members of the state champion Area 30 Career Center culinary arts team put their talents on display during a fundraiser/practice run for their parents and invited guests Saturday night at the home of their instructor, Mary Anne Birt. Whipping up the same meal the culinary arts team will create for the national finals May 2-6 at Minneapolis are (from left) Madison Harris and Brooke Smith, both of North Putnam; Alyssa Bolin, Cloverdale; and Michelle Bright of Eminence. Alternate Hayley Simpson of North Putnam is not pictured. The dinner menu included pecan-crusted pork tenderloin for the main course and a dessert that featured a persimmon-laced cookie full of dark chocolate raspberry mousse.
