Wednesday brush fire spreads to home

An unattended brush fire is apparently the cause for a house catching fire Wednesday morning, causing firefighters from several local agencies to respond. According to fire officials from the scene, Robert Koenig, 1223 E. CR 200 South, Greencastle, was burning leaves in a container behind his home. He left the leaves unattended and they began to burn out of control, the flames somehow leaping to his nearby home...
Commissioners review pipeline

Putnam County Commissioners met Monday evening to discuss a gas pipeline, hear requests for use of space in the courthouse and look at a request for funds to replace a bridge. The meeting started off with a clarification for a mistake printed in an article in the BannerGraphic story Monday regarding monies for county roadwork. The newspaper reported they had $6.5 million dollars for roadwork while the county only has between $600,000-$650,000...

Precipitation is 100 percent. Chance of rain and thunderstorms expected. Putnam County residents have grown accustomed to hearing these phrases daily. With the end of March quickly approaching, Putnam County weather spotter and BannerGraphic watcher Peggy Torr reports the county has already received over 13 inches of rain since January 1.
