Dewey Burkhart, 80, Elberfeld, Ind., died Saturday at Evansville. Born in Bowman, Ind., he was the son of Quillis and Delta Mae Burkhart. A World War II veteran, he received several medals including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, awarded by Gen. George Patton. He retired from Peabody Coal Co. in 1989 and was a member of the United Mine Workers...
