Car snaps pole on U.S. 231, road closed

U.S. 231 between Greencastle and U.S. 40 was shut down for several hours early this morning for a car that hit a power pole. Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy Tom Helmer told the Banner Graphic that Teresa Osborn, of Brazil, was driving at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when one of the tires on her vehicle blew out, causing her to lose control and careen off the roadway.
