U.S. 231 between Greencastle and U.S. 40 was shut down for several hours early this morning for a car that hit a power pole. Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy Tom Helmer told the Banner Graphic that Teresa Osborn, of Brazil, was driving at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when one of the tires on her vehicle blew out, causing her to lose control and careen off the roadway. Florence Elizabeth (Betty) McVay passed away on July 29, 2008 at the Indiana Masonic Home where she received loving care from friends and staff since 2004.
