Frazier named MVP

Former Cloverdale Elementary student Konner Frazier, son of Kent Frazier, just finished his first high school baseball season at Lake Travis High School in Lakeway, Texas. Konner won MVP, Best Defensive Payer, Best Ball Hit and Mental Attitude Award. Konner's team finished their season with 28-2 record. Kent was a former athlete at Cloverdale High School and Greencastle High School in the 1970s. Konner's grandfather, Garland Frazier, was inducted into Football Hall of Fame in the 1980s and was also football coach at Wabash College in the 1960s. Garland was also president of Cataract Water Corp. in the 1970s. Konner is also nephew of Cloverdale High School graduate Phil Haas and his mother is Annett Haas.

Changes afoot at PC museum

There are changes afoot at the Putnam County Museum which guarantee visitors will be treated to at least one new exhibit each month. "Four Corners" is the name being given to the new approach which involves four rotating exhibits: Founding Families, spotlighting the history of a founding Putnam County family; The Art Walk, continuing to display the art works of children and other individuals and groups; Historic Businesses, featuring businesses from all over the county that have played a unique role in development; and Community Curators, giving local organizations an opportunity to showcase their contribution to the quality of life in Putnam County.. ...

Speaker inspires ResCare youth

Rana, 26, was at Purdue Calumet as part of an exchange program from India when a fire gutted his Hammond apartment on July 2, 2005. Court dates set for Seketa

An evidentiary hearing for a Greencastle man accused of violating his probation has been set for Nov. 6 -- the same day the accused is to appear for bench trials in two other causes. Stephen E. Seketa, 29, served prison time in connection with a 2003 incident at the Putnam County Jail in which he was convicted of beating and injuring another inmate so badly that the man's kidney had to be removed. ...

Law strengthened for teen drivers

The law recently passed by Indiana legislators should strengthen the guidelines for teen drivers. It became effective on July 1. Graduated driver licensing is a three-stage process designed to ease new drivers into the experience. It begins with a learner's permit requiring supervised driving at all times. Goul charged in attempted robbery

A Greencastle man was formally charged Friday in connection with an attempted armed robbery at College Inn in Greencastle. Richie A Goul, 20, is facing charges of Class B felony attempted armed robbery and Class D felony attempted theft. Plaques dedicated and added to Heritage Wall
