Teachers at Central Elementary were ready for the first day of school Thursday in their "team" shirts. This year's motto is at Central we get kids off the bench and into the game. It was reportedly a great first day at the elementary school.
Quincy man murdered in his home (08/15/09)
This home in Quincy just south of the Owen-Putnam county line was the scene of a Thursday night shooting that left a man dead. Sgt. Curt Durnil of the Bloomington Indiana State Police Post said Stanley Smith, age unknown, was killed after shots were fired during a reported "domestic situation." GREENCASTLE -- The Putnam County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWDC) received a grant of $161,150 to correct flood damage in the Big Walnut Creek Water Shed Alliance.
