Trio of local teams still vying for sectional title

Monday is going to see a lot of baseball action as the 2010 Class 2A and Class 3A baseball sectional conclude. Of the games remaining, Greencastle, South Putnam and Cloverdale are still in the hunt for a sectional championship. The Clovers will get things going first Monday as they face Speedway at 10 a.m. at the North Putnam sectional. After bowing out of the sectional to the Cascade Cadets last season, South Putnam attacked the 2010 season with a singular goal in mind -- reach the finals. And tonight, the Eagles will be playing for exactly that. South Putnam has earned their trip to the finals after defeating the host Tri-West Bruins 11-2 in the first round and North Putnam 5-0 in the semifinal.
