Attempted robbery at Clark station (10/02/10)
GREENCASTLE-- A would-be robber attempted to hold up the Clark station on Washington St. in Greencastle between 7 and 8 p.m. Friday evening. While the Greencastle Police Department is releasing few details at this time, GPD Chief Tom Sutherlin confirmed it was a male subject wearing all black clothing, including a black hooded sweatshirt, attempted to rob the station. Homecoming for the Eagles (10/02/10)
South Putnam senior Sarah New was crowned South Putnam's 2010 Homecoming Queen at halftime of Friday's game. New is the daughter of Joe and Mary Cash. The Eagles won the game in exciting fashion, taking down visiting Triton Central 28-21 in overtime. Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray signed a proclamation Friday proclaiming the day to be Putnam County Community Foundation Day in Greencastle. The event is declaring the foundation's 25th anniversary; it was founded in October 1985. Haley Bain memorial added to SP's Memory Garden (10/02/10)
GREENCASTLE -- Gary Goss and his wife donated an expensive addition to the South Putnam Memory Garden this fall. The Gosses and their Boulder Designs business donated a large boulder that has been placed in the center of the Memory Garden. Although the Memory Garden exists as a memorial to all South Putnam students who have passed away, the Gosses wanted their gift to reflect their feelings for South Putnam Assistant Principal Dan Bain, who lost his daughter Haley on graduation day last spring. ...

MONROVIA -- Undefeated North Putnam crushed Monrovia, 33-0, in one of its best performances of the season Friday in a West Central Conference game on Gordon Hadley Field. The Cougars (7-0, 4-0 WCC) limited the Bulldogs (4-3, 2-2 WCC) to 85 yards rushing and five passing. They rolled up 281 yards rushing and quarterback Kolten Everts contributed 76 timely passing yards.
