Jean Mildred Bennett, 93, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 in California after a brief illness. She was born on Nov. 14, 1920 in Coatesville to Lee Orville and Agnes Minter Eastham. She was a graduate of Amo High School. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist and played the organ at the Coatesville United Methodist Church and sang with a DePauw University Choir. With one commissioner out of town and unknown factors remaining about the fiscal burden of moving forward, the Putnam County Commissioners reached no decision on a proposed animal control ordinance. The commissioners had agreed at their second November meeting to move forward in principle with an animal control plan, but questions linger about fee structures as well as the funding for a nearly $200,000 per year animal control operation...
