Bush wins 12U world championship

Lance Bush, a sixth-grader at South Putnam Middle School, won the 2013 Winter World Championship 12U baseball title recently as a member of Team USA recently. Bush, a lefty pitcher, first baseman and centerfielder, helped his team to an undefeated record in pool play and a No. 1 seed entering the medal round. His team cruised a 6-0 win in the semifinals and a 6-3 win in the championship game on New Year's Eve. While Bush was the only player the Midwest on the team, the 12U Team USA roster was made up of players from California, Georgia, Florida, New Jersey and Texas.
