SPENCER -- The low scoring of the Greencastle boys' golf team was enough to outdo the medalist for Owen Valley on Thursday as GHS took the win as Rolling Meadows. While Owen Valley had a Patriot shoot a 36 to win individually Greencastle enjoyed the success of the whole team in the win. The Clover softball team ran into few problems as it faced Eminence Friday evening. Pitcher Lauren Meek and the Cloverdale record improved to 16-5 as the Clovers won 18-0 in five innings. Dinah Bunch was contributing well serving up three singles and a double with four RBIs. The Clovers were scoring early and often with five runs in the first inning...

BRAZIL -- After earning decisive victories in both its sectional matches, the Tiger Cub girls' tennis team finally met its match in Northview during the IHSAA sectional match. Though the Tiger Cubs gave the host team all they could muster, with two matches going three sets and one ending with a tie-breaker, GHS still fell 5-0 on Friday...

The summer promises to be a busy one in the Greencastle School Corporation now that the first domino has fallen in the plans to relocate the school administration offices. Talks began several months ago for the school to purchase the HOP building at 1002 Mill Pond Dr., just across Percy Julian Drive from Greencastle Middle School...

Youngsters in the Putnam County Headstart program celebrate the last day of the year Friday with a carnival featuring fun activities like a bounce house, a variety of children's games and plenty of snacks outside the Area 30 Career Center building on Indianapolis Road in Greencastle.
