CRAWFORDSVILLE — Greencastle ventured to Crawfordsville on Tuesday night with two different goals in high school basketball. The Tiger Cub girls were looking for their first victory after five losses, while the Greencastle boys were hoping to open their season on the right note and repeat a victory earned on the same court last March that won a sectional title...

The South Putnam Eagle boys’ basketball team opened up its season at home on Tuesday night with only two returnees from last year with much experience. The inexperience showed as the Eagles lost 58-44 to a senior-laden Clay City squad. Donna L. (Walker) Schmalix, 71, of Belle Union, passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at her residence. She was born to the late Arlyn and Agnes (Thompson) Walker on July 13, 1948 in Indianapolis. A graduate of Fillmore High School, Donna went on to attend Indiana State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. It was there she met her future husband, Tom, and they were united in marriage on April 3, 1971...
