Freddie Jaynes, 68, Cloverdale, formerly of Poland, died Sunday at Putnam County Hospital.

Born in poland, he was he son of Fred A. and Violet Marie (Whelchel) Jaynes.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a construction laborer and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cunot.

Surviving are a sister, Mary I. Johnson, Poland; and a brother Paul Jaynes, Poland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Trudy Mellvina Jaynes; son Timothy Owen Bryer; sisters Wilma Arvena Delp, Leatha Leona Frye, Vera Jaus, Gracie Juanita Delp, Dorothy Hannella, Helen Lewis and Betty Turner; and brother Albert Jaynes.

Services will be a 2 p.m. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.

Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Wednesday.
