VanBibber Lake man arrested

Monday, July 16, 2007

A Putnam County man is facing child molestation and other charges for allegedly taking nude photographs of young boys and exposing them to pornographic material in his Van Bibber Lake home.

George Oea York, 74, was arrested and booked into the Putnam County Jail Friday on a string of felony charges, including child molesting, child exploitation, vicarious sexual gratification and dissemination of matter harmful to minors.

The alleged acts are said to have occurred at York's home located at 1044 Van Bibber Lake Estates.

In his report, Putnam County Prosecutor's investigator Charles Bollinger said he interviewed three boys, ages 11 and 9, who said York invited them to his home on several occasions since Christmas of last year. The boys are from York's neighborhood.

The boys told investigators that York invited them to watch pornographic videos and that he committed sexual acts in front of them. The boys also allege that York took nude photographs of them and touched them inappropriately.

One of the boys told CPS Investigator Clay Adams that York gave them cigarettes in exchange for coming to his house and that he allowed them to watch pornographic movies.

York was questioned about the accusations prior to his arrest and according to Bollinger's report, said he knew the boys but denied exposing himself or taking nude photos.

York is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
