Damie M. King, 96, Orange City, Fla., formerly of Greencastle, died Monday.

Born in Summerset, Ky., she was the daughter of Riley and Myrtle (Poynter) Poole.

She worked at L.S. Ayres and Bridgeport Brass, Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie A. King; son Virgil M. King, one sister and five brothers.

She is survived by son Mervyn L. King and wife, Jean, Deltona, Fla.; a brother, Charles Estle Poole, Brownsburg; two sisters, Clarice West, Pinellas Park, Fla., and Zella Frazier, Greencastle; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Interment will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
