Jerry R. Hillman, 68, Poland, died Thursday at Putnam County Hospital.
Born in Indianapolis, he was the son of Ronald Eugene and Sarah Elizabeth (VanBuskirk) Hillman.
He was a retired advertising manager for the Indianapolis Star. Prior to his employment with the Star, he was advertising manager for the Indianapolis Times, and recently retired as owner/operator of Hillman's Store in Poland.
He married Patsy L. Hopkins on Oct. 24, 1958. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Poland; daughter Lisa Farrell and husband Chris, Poland; sister Patty Ruhl and husband William, Avon; two brothers, Russell Hillman and wife Marty, Plainfield, and Ernest Hillman and wife Pat, Milwaukee, Wis.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and son Brian Matthew Hillman on July 13, 1997.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. Billy J. Gott officiating. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
