Thelma Jean Witt, 78, Coatesville, died Monday at Hendricks Regional Health, Danville.

Born in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Nola Bryant Carrington, and was adopted by Herman and Roxie Bryant.

She was a homemaker and mother.

Survivors include children Susie Stringer, Tessie Puett and Joe Witt, all of Greencastle, and Becky Snyder, Coatesville; half-brothers Norman Carrington and wife Cissi and Robert Carrington and wife Barbara, both of Greencastle; half-sister, Carol Lowe, Greencastle; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by halfbrother Freeman Wayne Carrington; halfsisters Virginia Morrison and Marie Aubrey; a grandchild and great-grandchild.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville, with Rev. Kevin Gaugler officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
