Jeanette M. "Jan" Jones Dixon, 80, Greencastle, died Monday at Putnam County Hospital after an extended illness.

Born in Kentucky, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jones.

She had been employed by Batesville Casket Co., and was a server for the Holiday Inn and the Putnam Inn. For several years she was an assistant activities director and nursing assistant at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Darlene West and husband Fred, Greencastle; son Merle Dixon and wife Carol, Greencastle; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, Greencastle. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday.
