Jeanette M. "Jan" Jones Dixon, 80, Greencastle, died Thursday at Putnam County Hospital after an extended illness.

Born in Kentucky, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jones.

She had been employed by Batesville Casket Co., and was a server for the Holiday Inn and a long-time employee of the Putnam Inn, and a nursing assistant at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Darlene West and husband Fred, Greencastle; son Merle Dixon and wife Carol, Greencastle; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted Monday at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, Greencastle. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.
