Frank Puckett Sr., 85, Mt. Meridian, died Tuesday at Putnam County Hospital.
Born in Saltville, Va., he was the son of George Thomas and Dolly (Little) Puckett.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater, he was an automotive mechanic in the Greencastle area, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Fillmore United Methodist Church.
He married Mayleen I. Johnson on Aug. 26, 1941. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Barbara Martin and husband Dale, and Debbie Bratcher, all of Crawfordsville, and Paula Perkins and husband John, Seymour; five sons, Frank Puckett Jr. and wife Nancy, Lexington, Ky., Gregory Puckett and wife Suzi, Rantoul, Ill., Dan Puckett and wife Jo, and Kieth Puckett and wife Dawn, all of Greencastle, and Jim Puckett, Perrysville; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Little, North Tazwell, Va., and Violet June Richardson and husband Eugene, Stilesville; brother William Bolden Puckett and wife Patty, West Palm Beach, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.
Visitation is 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday.
