Margaret E. Martin

Margaret E. Martin, 87, Carmel, formerly of Greencastle, died Sunday.

Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of Hershel V. and Elsie E. (Cowgill) Ruark. She married Frank T. Martin, and he preceded her in death.

A graduate of Fillmore High School and Indiana Business College, she worked at Allison's in Speedway and Union Carbide in Indianapolis.

She was involved in Phi Delta Kappa activities with her husband.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Burnell and husband Jerry, Speedway, Mitzi Bair, Carmel, and Marty Miller and husband Ron, Gorham, Maine; two sisters, Jiggi Clark, Fillmore, and Pody Keiser, Niles, Mich.; a brother, Don Ruark, Fillmore; six grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Mary Ann.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with a service to follow at noon. Interment will be at Springhill Cemetery in Cartersburg.
