Charles E. "Chuck" Boden, 77, Cloverdale, died Thursday at Hickory Creek at Sunset, Greencastle.

Born in Muskegon, Mich., he was the son of Charles Edward and Henrietta (Balk) Boden.

He married Susan R. (Libhart) Boden on Oct.. 26, 1979. She survives.

Boden was a retired salesman and driver for Schwan's Fine Foods and was in the United State Air Force and Navy, serving in the Korean War.

He was a member of the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church and the Hurst-Collins Post No. 281, American Legion, Cloverdale.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Nancy Garrett and husband Jason, Crawfordsville; a son Charles W. Boden and wife Brandie, Avon; stepsons Robert Underwood and wife Heather, Calif., Mike Underwood, Fla., Donald Welsh and wife Kim, Bainbridge, Pa., and Tim Welsh and wife Dee, Columbia, Pa.; sister Jessie Allen, Fla., 19 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepson Richard Welsh, and great-grandson Cameron Garrett.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, at Whitaker Funeral Home, with the Revs. Frank Bunn, Steve Brattain, and Gary Foust officiating. Burial will be at Putnamville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
